Job Description

  • Are you an experienced Cleaner, Housekeeper or Domestic Assistant
  • Have you gained cleaning or housekeeping experience within a Hospital, Healthcare or Public Sector environment
  • Do you have infection control and colour scheme cleaning knowledge This would be an advantageous but not essential
  • Do you have a valid DBS on the update service or a valid DBS dated within the last 12 months
  • If you do not yet hold a valid DBS, are you happy to apply for a DBS as part of your application (A valid in date DBS is required in order to commence employment)
  • Are you available immediately to work in Hawkhurst, Cranbrook (Kent) between Monday - Sundays, working a total of 33 hours per week

  • Working between Monday - Sundays
  • Working full time - 33 hours per week
  • Pay Rates:
  • Monday to Friday Hourly Pay Rate: £9.77 paye inclusive of Holiday pay
  • Saturday Hourly Pay Rate: £11.00 paye inclusive of Holiday pay
  • Sunday Hourly Pay Rate: £13.60 paye inclusive of Holiday pay
  • Duties:
  • Professional -Adhere to all cleaning schedules
  • Suction clean floors, Damp mopping floor areas, including the removal of spillages as they occur
  • Spray polish/buff floor areas with a mechanical buffer
  • Hand scrubbing floor areas inaccessible to a machine
  • Apply and remove floor polish when directed to do so
  • Damp dusting furniture, fixtures and fittings, high and low dusting
  • Wipe and clean cookers and microwaves
  • Collecting and washing up crockery cutlery and serving dishes
  • Cleaning ward/kitchen areas sink units, floors, work surfaces and cupboards etc.
  • Emptying waste bins, etc. taking rubbish to the designated collection point
  • Cleaning toilets wash hand basins, baths, showers, sanichairs and hoists, as required
  • Replenishing paper hand towels, liquid soap and toilet paper on a daily basis
  • Cleaning all internal glass
  • Carry out Credits for Cleaning checks quality control checks
  • Compliance with the Trust and Local health and safety requirements including COSHH, reporting potential hazards immediately
  • Ensuring Trust and Local manual handling techniques are followed
  • Comply with the Trust and Local Infection control procedures
  • Adhere to the colour coding policies
  • Maintain a high level of personal hygiene
  • Wear the uniform provided and personal protective equipment as specified
  • Ensuring cleaning equipment is kept clean and in good working order, inspecting it on a regular basis
  • Ensuring correct, economical and safe use of materials and equipment
  • Reporting mechanical and other defects to management
  • Required Skills/Experience:
  • Cleaning experienced, ideally gained within a Healthcare or Public Sector environment
  • Infection control and colour scheme cleaning knowledge (An advantageous but not essential)
  • Hold a valid in date DBS dated within the last 12 months or on the update Service
  • In order to successfully commence employment, you will need to:
  • Become fully compliant with Your World Healthcare
  • Apply for a valid in date DBS should you not yet hold one
  • Provide references covering the last 3 years
