Job Description

Who is the clientWe are recruiting on behalf of a multinational pharmaceutical, chemical and life sciences company with a team of 56,000 people at present. Do you have what it takes to become number 56,001 Then keep reading.Where are we basedBased in the Haverhill, You will need to be able to drive and have access to a vehicle due to our site location.What does the role look likeThe QC technician will be able to act as a Subject Matter Expert in regard to Quality control of oligonucleotides. As this is a lab-based role you will need to be comfortable operating the relevant machinery. This is also a Evening Shift-Based role therefore you will need to be happy working 12pm midday - 8pm Monday to Thurs & Friday 10 – 6pm.What could my day to day look like

  • Understand types and origin of QC samples, and benefits / limitations of analytical equipment.
  • Use of software to assign, process and track synthesis batches.
  • Preparation of analytical equipment (MALDI-TOF, ESI LC/MS, HPLC) and reagents to perform quality control analysis.
  • Interpretation and analysis of analytical data, providing feedback to internal customers regarding failures for troubleshooting and prevention.
  • Accurate archiving of analytical data by following correct logging / archiving of data in accordance with QMS.
  • Analysis of returned product and provide QC information on customer complaints.
  • Leads investigations and identifies root causes and appropriate preventative actions.
  • Delivers training on the QC process and analytical techniques and provides technical support to less experienced team members.
  • Maintenance of analytical instrumentation.
  • Produce, review and update departmental QMS and HS&E documentation
  • What are the must have skills/qualifications needed for our Senior QC specialist
  • A Level(s) in Science/Maths or equivalent
  • Preferable some years relevant experience, within a QC or other laboratory environment
  • Professional Lab experience
  • Understanding or production time frames and customer expectations
  • Computer literacy – Microsoft Excel
  • Some knowledge of ISO or similar QMS
