Job Description

Quality Assurance Inspector | ManufacturingOur client is a Global Organisation with a turnover in excess of $1 billionworldwide, and around 3600 employees, they are now moving into a new phase of their growth within the UK. They have an exciting investment programme to grow, building on the successof their industrial business, they are now moving forward to take their exciting products into the retail, hospitality and logistics sectors and expanding their presence in the UK market. Their team are based on their site near Cambridge.Reporting to Head of Compliance you will perform the major functions listed below. Responsible for ensuring incoming parts conform to technical specifications, reject andreturn to supplier non conforming parts, maintaining records of stock parts held underQA department responsibility, final checks and audit of finished machinesagainst standardised tests, ensuring machines are manufactured to specification andcomply to type approval certification and international weights and measuresaccuracy requirements.The RoleThe Quality Assurance Inspector performs the major functions listed below. The position may require additional duties/responsibilities that may not be outlined below, and specific functions are subject to change.

  • Check goods into the company against technical specifications and drawings.
  • Process and record rejects and resolves issues arising by liaison with suppliers via e-mail and or telephone.
  • Carry out and record final checks on completed machines for build specification and performance following documented instructions.
  • Verification testing on completed machines following documented instructions to ensure that they weigh within legal limits and conform to their type approval certification
  • Handle day to day issues by liaison with Production, Technical, Procurement, Admin and Stores teams.
  • Produce a monthly report to the Quality Assurance Manager detailing the number of machines tested, how many verified and details of any major faults found.
  • Produce a monthly report to the Quality Assurance Manager detailing Non conforming reject notes raised and nature of significant defects found.
  • Maintain records of parts under QA responsibility and their status - rejected - recommended for scrap - for repair etc.
  • Assist the QA Manager with maintaining ISO accreditation documentation and reports, including calibrated measuring and test equipment
  • Liaison with external ISO 9001 and verification auditor on an annual basis.
Qualifications & Skills RequirementsThe following qualifications are the minimum requirements to successfully perform this role. However, any equivalent combination of experience, education and training, which provides the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities would be acceptable, subjectto any legal and/or regulatory requirements.Essential
  • Must have a good level of literacy and numeracy
  • Good PC skills and a proficient level of skill and experience in Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
  • Ability to work to targets and ensure work is completed to the highest standards.
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate complex technical issues in an easy to understand manner.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, self-directed, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Ability to follow and adhere to Health and Safety, Environmental Health and Safety and/or all other applicable regulatory requirements
Desirable
  • Experience of ISO9001:2015 Quality Management System - Including planning, implementing, maintaining and auditing.
  • Experience of ISO14001:2015 Environmental Management Systems.
  • Certified internal auditor for both ISO90001:2015 and ISO4001:2015.
  • Knowledge of relevant engineering and manufacturing techniques.
