Job Description

Product Manager required for our Haverhill manufacturing company. As Product Manager your role is the maintenance, identification, development and introduction of new products as well as manage existing products, you will also be the companys representativefor external trade associations and technical committee work. In order to be considered for this Product Manager positions you possess an HNC and/or degree in a relevant engineering discipline, have extensive knowledge of windows and doors hardware and strongCAD knowledge.The Role

  • Develop new products to agreed timelines and budgets, at acceptable quality levels for the market requirements.
  • Assess customer and market requirements via interaction with Sales team, existing and potential customers and industry events/dialogue.
  • Accurately cost product by item and entire project, in conjunction with FP&A Manager and Commercial Director.
  • Liaison with external manufacturers where necessary to design and produce to optimal efficiency.
  • Interpret and disseminate changes in industry regulation.
  • Ongoing testing and quality level monitoring of production output.
  • Assessment of competitor product.
  • Set stretching objectives and provide performance management for the team, linking appraisal objectives to business goals, measured output and departmental KPIs.
  • Provide training, ongoing and ad hoc, to improve employee knowledge and experience.
  • Assist suppliers with product cost downs ensuring joint profitability as well as assist with technical issues.
  • Monitor help desk to ensure customers needs are being addressed.
  • Provide cover one day/week and holidays via email and telephone calls.
  • Mon to Thurs 7:45 - 4:30 and Friday 8am to 12:30pm
The Person
  • Extensive knowledge of windows and hardware
  • An experienced engineering backgrounds
  • Extensive CAD experience
  • Ability to understand technical Standards and associated documentation
  • Quality control and testing experience
  • Strong practical skills
  • Positive attitude and strong communication skills
  • Strong organisational skills and diligent record keeping
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Strong attention to detail and proven skills around accuracy
  • Willingness and experience in travelling overseas for supplier and customer liaison
