Job Description

Junior Sheet metal Operative required for our well-established Haverhill based client. In your role as Junior Sheet Metal Operative, you will adjust and assemble metal parts using riveting, spot welding equipment and use other equipment to shape the products. Ideally you will possess some experience in a similar position but full training will be given as lone as you have worked within manufacturing ad are family with hand manual tools and power tools.An immediate start is available for the right person for this junior Sheet Metal Operator role.The Role

  • Uses lightweight machines such as shears, benders, stampers, punch’s for cutting, bending, punching
  • Using pemserting machine
  • Rotating shift pattern: Monday to Friday 7am to 3pm or Monday to Friday 3pm to 11pm.
  • Grind and polishes joints, fittings and rough surfaces
  • Adjust and assemble metal parts using riveting, spot welding equipment and use other equipment to shape the products
  • Read technical drawings, diagrams and specifications of the work to be performed, arranges, measures and marks the sheet according to drawings and templates
  • Verifies with precision measuring instruments (micro meter, gauge) if the dimensions of the products are exact and conforms.
  • The Person
  • Ideally possess previous experience in a similar role
  • Must possess manufacturing experience
  • Experience of Amada Punch Press and BrakePress would be ideal
  • Have the experience and ability to Use Hand Tools, Power Tools
  • Ability to work alone and in a team
  • Good work ethic
  • Happy to work on a shift pattern

  • Salary £9.24 per hour, plus shift payment of 0.125% per hour on early shift and 0.250% on late shift, hourly rate will reflect experience.
