Job Description

Graduate Finance Assistant - Stock and InventoryHaverhill£26000-£28,000 per annumAn exciting opportunity has arisen with a technology company who have their warehouse function in Haverhill, and who are looking for a detail orientated and focused individual to join their finance team in a permanent position, taking responsibility forstock and inventory based finance duties.This role will be based from the warehouse site in Haverhill, however will report in to the Finance Manager who is based in Cambridge.Responsibilities to include:

  • Perpetual Inventory counting
  • Recording of findings including proposed adjustments to inventory quantities
  • Investigation of differences and reporting of reasons to Finance
  • Oversight of the booking in of inventory, checking procedures are followed and checking for accuracy of quantities and product lines recorded
  • Quality assurance checks on outbound shipments
  • Recommendations to processes of booking inventory in and out to improve the control environment
  • Oversight of the overall custody of stock ensuring its physical location matches the location on the system
  • Internal audit checks and reconciliations as requested by the Finance team
This client is looking for somebody with exceptional attention to detail, and capable of learning and adapting to changes in systems and processes. Ideally candidates will have some accounting knowledge, and good mental maths ability, however experienceis not essential as training will be provided. They will also consider those who have recently graduated and are looking for a first accounts based position.Candidates must be technically proficient and be capable of using Excel and Word at an intermediate level. It is also necessary that candidates possess high levels of integrity and genuinely care about the quality of their work.
