Job Description

Our client are looking to recruit a Control Panel Wirer / Machine Wirer.The Role Will include

  • To build /assemble electrical MCC control panels / Switchgear
  • Point to Point wiring of the machine to the back panel
  • All aspects involved with the electrical content of a machine build including reading schematics, Drilling, Taping etc, mounting peripheral equipment and other mechanical tasks associated with the role.
  • To understand the scope and requirements of the panel design from wiring diagrams provided
  • Modifying or manufacturing of electrical designs to suit projects
  • The ability to follow electrical schematic drawings, in a methodical manner.
  • Fault finding, diagnosis and rectification during machine assembly
  • Commissioning of drives, motors, vision systems and printers
  • PLC input and output testing
  • Final electrical testing before dispatch
  • Giving some service support if required
  • Work within a controlled environment and to deadlines provided by the management
  • The Candidate
  • A sound Electrical engineering background.
  • Ability to interpret panel design from wiring diagrams
  • Knowledge of panel assembly/fabrication techniques
  • Experience of Electrical control panel or switch gear building.
  • Experience in the machine building
  • Proficiency in the use of hand tools and mechanical equipment and electrical equipment.
  • Minimum electrical engineering qualifications to City & Guilds or NVQ 3 standard
  • The ability to work with the minimum of supervision and to become integrated into a small team.
  • The ability to be flexible in regard to overtime hours, and tasks undertaken.
