Job Description

Robert Walters are proud to partner with a Hatfield based business recruiting for a Financial Analyst. Looking for someone commercially minded and hoping to add value by analysing different cost-centres and maximising profitability. The business is offeringan excellent opportunity for the successful candidate to progress within accounting by adding to their already exposure to preparing reports for non-financial stakeholders and month-end management account preparation, as well as completing a financial qualificationalongside that.You will be expected to support the team by creating various financial reports, and support the wider FP&A Team.Duties for the Financial Analyst:

  • Supporting the provision of a full finance business partnering service to the business.
  • Evaluating and analysing business performance across a range of areas and initiatives and preparing financial proposals to assist in ensuring expected business returns are targeted and achieved.
  • Ensuring adherence to financial policies and procedures, maintaining robust financial and cash control and governance.
  • Relevant and timely and insightful periodic and ad-hoc reporting, to support the senior management team with understanding commercial performance.
  • Supporting the preparation and analysis of plans and forecasts.
  • Pro-actively investigating variances in expected financial performance, whether positive or negative, to identify the root cause and pro-actively inform and, as necessary lead in taking corrective action.
  • Supporting the construction and provision of challenging plans and budgets, providing clear and concise reporting and insights against performance and external trends as appropriate.
  • Contributing towards a high performing team, taking control of self-development to provide opportunity for personal advancement in the organisation.
  • Build effective working relationships with colleagues across the business to provide high quality financial control and decision support.
  • Assist in developing systems and processes to enable effective and efficient management and control of resources.
To be considered successful, the ideal candidate must have:
  • Ideally hold experience in a similar accounting role supporting senior leaders with reporting and working across different departments with business partnering. However, will consider a graduate with a Placement Year.
  • Highly numerate skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Exposure to investigating discrepancies and issues in depth.
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Have an understanding of FP&A.
  • Be in the process of studying ACCA or CIMA.
