Support Workers – Hartlepool - Waking Nights Part-time contracts available ranging from 24-32 hours per weekBe the difference you want to see in the world – help others to achieve their goals and live the life they choose! Dimensions will soon be supporting two young gentlemen in their 20s in the Hartlepool area and we’re looking for fantastic local people to be a part of their support teams.Do you find yourself naturally caring for others Are you able to motivate others in a consistent and calm manner Are you able to think on your feet If so, this may be the team for you!*Daniel is a humorous and caring young man who is fun to be around. He likes to share jokes, dress up, dance, listen to music and he loves fairies. Daniel is looking for support workers who have a sense of humour, are keen to get involved in the activities he enjoys and who respect his need for structure and routine. Daniel really enjoys food and is looking for someone who can plan and cook homemade nutritious meals for him.*Benjaminis an active and fun young man who enjoys having a laugh. He likes to be busy and involved in lots of activities such as karaoke, arcade games, football, going to the pub, watching his favourite TV series “Benidorm” and going on holiday. Benjamin is looking for support workers who have similar interests to him as he wants you to be involved so you can have fun together.Both Daniel and Benjamin have autism and value people who are committed to supporting them on a long-term basis and are patient in learning about their needs, interests and anxieties. Benjamin also has epilepsy and requires support managing his condition.Personal care, meal preparation, medication administration, manual handling and laundry are all part of supporting Daniel and Benjamin to live the lives they choose. You may also experience behaviours in this role that others may find challenging. With the appropriate training from the start, you’ll soon feel confident in handling these situations in a calm manner.If you think that you could provide positive support to Daniel or Benjamin, we encourage you to apply today. We recruit based on values so whilst previous experience is always welcome, it’s certainly not essential as full training will be provided.The shifts can vary but are usually 9am one day until 9am the following day (1 colleague does the sleep in and one colleague does the waking night).
