Job Description

Are you passionate about helping people overcome their substance misuse problems and achieve recovery Do you have experience or transferable skills in the field of addictions If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our clients team as aRecovery Coordinator.Job Title: Substance Misuse Recovery CoordinatorLocation: HartlepoolSalary: £29,269 per annumContract: Fixed Term Contract (Till March 2025), Full Time / Part TimeReed is excited to be working with our client in Hartlepool to recruit for the role ofRecovery Coordinator. This is the perfect role for a substance misuse support worker who is looking to progress and gain a more challenging role. As part of the team thepost holder will assess, plan, implement and evaluate long term planned care for substance misusers. Recovery co-ordinators will have responsibility for caseload management of service users who may or may not have a need for medically assisted recovery.The Service provides:

  • Psychosocial one to one and group interventions
  • Health and wellbeing interventions
  • Harm reduction interventions
  • Recovery focused interventions supporting service users with employment, education and training.
  • Access to residential treatment where appropriate
Some of the main duties involved in the day-to-day role are:
  • To manage a caseload of individuals supporting them as a care co-ordinator to access services to meet their holistic needs to increase their motivation to make changes;
  • Undertake assessment of individuals entering the service through various referral sources with continual assessment to act upon risk of danger, harm and abuse
  • Carry out risk assessments and be responsible for the development and implementation and effective review of individual recovery plans.
  • Lead team around meetings with partners to ensure that all needs are being addressed.
  • Support service users to access resources and services to increase their recovery capital to help them achieve their recovery goals and promote family, carer and service user involvement.
  • To work closely and in partnership with the multi-disciplinary team from across the partnership and external partners and contribute to plans as appropriate e.g child protection plans
  • Provide a range of one-to-one evidenced based interventions including psychosocial interventions to support recovery.
The successful candidate will meet the below criteria:
  • Hold a GCSE in Maths and English at Grade C or above (or equivalent)
  • Have a diploma, BTEC or NVQ 3 or equivalent in on of the below:
    • Health and Social Care
    • Substance Misue
    • Psychology
    • Counselling
    • Social Work
  • Have experience of working with vulnerable individuals with issues of substance misuse or mental health
  • Have a good knowledge of relevant legislation and guidance
  • Have a strong and resilient character
As part of this role, you will be required to complete ongoing training in Safeguarding, Equality and Diversity, Employee Protection Register and Information Governance.
