THE BUSINESSAre you a Time Served Mechanical Maintenance Technician Do you have experience maintaining Chemical Processing Plants Do you have Team Leading experience Are you seeking Day Shift Only hoursIf the answer to the above is YES, I would like to hear from you today!Westray Recruitment Group is seeking to recruit a Mechanical Maintenance Team Lead for our global client who serves the Chemical Processing sector. Our client specialises in aiding the renewables sector and looks to reduce emissions through the nature of theirproduct. Their products are used in a variety of market sectors from Oil & Gas, Marine, Commercial and Automotive sectors.As a Mechanical Maintenance Team Leader, you will be well placed to plan, coordinate and deliver a front-line maintenance service to support the production team. This is a hands-on role and you will work diligently to proactively and reactively manage maintenanceactivities to ensure maximum up-time production of the facility.THE ROLE
  • Delivering planned and reactive maintenance activities
  • Strip, inspect, service and repair Pumps, Centrifuges
  • Mentor the Technicians, Apprentices and support the Maintenance Manager/ Maintenance Supervisor with all plant-based activities
  • Ability to take the information from schematic drawings and assemble equipment
  • Performing work allocation to ensure the team are using their time efficiently
  • Making sure the management team are up to date with status of all equipment that has been maintained
  • Bring own-craft expertise to fruition, but also foster a team-culture within the maintenance squad - Willingness to learn new skills
  • Act as focal point and direct all maintenance activities via the Maintenance Manager
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills to work on multiple/concurrent projects
  • Creating RAMs for jobs and approving technicians RAMs
  • Become familiar with all Biofuels technical information systems. To assist with keeping systems up-to-date
  • To perform an enabling role as regards timing, permit preparation, and site liaison to ensure both the safety of providers and value-for-money
  • Be prepared to “champion” areas of own skill and interest for the benefit of the company.
  • Use of focal Maintenance Management System, with clear and accurate entries for work close out, to include auditing of others
  • Be willing to take other direction, i.e. project involvement
THE PERSON
  • Time-served tradesman with 5 years’ + experience
  • You will hold a Level 3 NVQ or equivalent in a Mechanical or Building Services related subject
  • Experience of chemical processing plants essential.
  • Experience of working with sub-contractors.
  • Proficiency in the reading and understanding of mechanical schematic drawings.
  • Experience with Hazardous areas and equipment is desirable
  • Computer literate.
  • Technical competence within own skill-set.
  • Excellent health and safety record
  • Proven skills to foster a “team environment” and “can do” approach by all.
  • Ability to function either as part of a team or individually.
  • Good communication and cross-functional skills.
  • Team player.
  • Good attention to detail and “finisher/completer” skills
