Salary: £12.88 per hourHours of work: 15 hours per week (Fridays and Sundays)Location: Hartfields, HartlepoolTerm: PermanentAbout the roleThe new Hartfields coffee shop launches in November 2023 and is open to the residents and public 7 days a week for breakfast, lunches, afternoon cake and coffee and for booking parties and events. It is set in the extra care community which consists of self-containedproperties with residents who can choose whether to eat in the coffee shop, in their own homes or elsewhere. The vibrant coffee shop in Hartfields offers a multi choice, varied menu, which is nutritionally well balanced. Ingredients are locally sourced wherepossible, contributing to the sustainability of the wider community.We are now seeking to recruit a new Chef who will assist the Coffee Shop Manager in the production and management of the food operation, and will work in accordance with the food cost budget when required to make purchases, with value for money principles.The successful candidate will help to drive and maintain the highest standards of food safety and hygiene and continually strive for service and cost improvement, to ensure best all-round value for money whilst balancing our ethos of locally sourced, sustainableproduce wherever possible.About youWe are looking for a Chef who has previous production management experience of working in a commercial catering environment. Working in a carvery or a call order environment would be advantageous. You will thrive on working under pressure and be IT literatewith the ability to be self-sufficient. You will have experience in working towards income targets, along with working to a budget for food costs. You will be innovative and creative with menu ideas and food presentation, and will hold a relevant cateringqualification and catering experience.You will hold a minimum Level 2 Food Safety qualification, and be willing to train to Level 3 once appointed.Application informationTo apply for the role, please submit your CV as part of your Internal application form (this is via our Applicant Tracking System - ATS).
