Job Description

Michael Page Logistics are looking to recruit a Customs Clearance Manager and a Customs Agent for our Client based in Harrow.Client DetailsOur client are a specialist importer and distributor of goods to the UK marker from Europe and ROW. Due to recent changes in regulations they are looking to bring the clearance team in house in order to save costs and create a new revenue stream for the business.DescriptionIn the role of Customs Clearance manager, you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Setting up in-house Customs Clearance Dept.
  • Managing customs entries from EU, implementing procedures for inbound/outbound trucks and containers for the whole Group of Companies
  • Liaising with the companys in-house Imports Dept regarding incoming shipments in order to apply for customs entry in good time.
  • Working with Governments CHIEF customs system to ensure entries are added correctly
  • Training new/existing employees on Customs Entry processes.
  • Provide knowledge of customs clearance for specific variations on companies imports from EU and from Rest of World
  • Ensuring Commodity/HS Codes set up on operating system are correct for new and existing products.
  • Offering Customs Clearance to external companies as a service

You will have good attention to detail along with a good understanding of I.T. systems.
