Job Description

An exciting opportunity for a Management Accountant to join a well known, growing service business based within the Harrogate area. The successful individual will benefit from a salary of up to £40,000 depending on experience, 25 days holiday, various retailerdiscounts and the potential to work on a hybrid basis after an initial training period.Reporting into the Senior Finance Manager, key responsibilities for the Management Accountant will include:

  • Submission of monthly management accounts
  • Submission of balance sheet lead schedules
  • Responding to P&L and balance sheet queries
  • Providing variance analysis and commentary
  • Responding to client queries
  • Business partnering with the wider finance team and explaining financial information/decisions to non-finance individuals
  • Assisting with the development of budgets and financial plans for the business
  • Supporting with annual audit
  • Mentoring of more junior members of the team
This role requires someone who has strong analytical skills, a good understanding of the management accounts process and excellent Excel skills with the ability to ideally create Pivot Tables, V-Lookups and SUMIFS. The role will be a varied position combiningthe month end process with some business partnering so excellent communication skills are essential.To be successful in this Management Accountant role you will:
  • Be a part qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACA, ACCA) OR will be QBE with relevant management accounts experience
  • Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Have good practical experience of producing the balance sheet, profit and loss accounts and the full month end process
  • Have excellent Excel skills and will be confident picking up new software and systems
