Job Description

Lead Network Engineer - £45,000 - £55,000 + Benefits - HarrogateWe are working with a well-established organisation to hire a Lead Network Engineer to join a large, fast paced team of engineers. The Lead Network Engineer will help the business scale their current team to support the growing needs.The successful Lead Network Engineer will be responsible for looking after multiple 2nd Line Engineers. This will involve creating training plans, keeping the team motivated whilst organising team meetings and appraisals etc. However, this role is not all managerial, it has a 50/50 split between managerial tasks and hands on technical tasks.Essential Experience - Lead Network Engineer

  • Experience installing and configuring Cisco Routers and Switches
  • Previous experience designing and implementing Networks
  • Strong knowledge around LAN and WAN
  • Experience with BGP and other networking protocols
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical users
    • Desirable Experience - Lead Network Engineer
  • Experience working with Firewalls - ideal Fortinet or Cisco ASA
  • Implementing and troubleshooting Cisco Meraki
  • SD-WAN implementations
  • Experience mentoring others
  • Experience of managing a team e.g. running appraisals, managing workloads, creating training schedules and project management
  • Experience working with MPLS Networks
  • Experience working for a managed service provider or supporting a multi network environment
  • Cisco certifications e.g. CCNA / CCNP
