Job Description

Our client is a well-established, highly successful business operating across nine divisions with their Head Office based in North Yorkshire. They are currently recruiting for an IT Helpdesk Controller to join their technical support team in a fast pacedand proactive environment.

  • Build & configure new & redeployed laptops and desktop PCs.
  • Carry out repairs to any peripherals: laptops, desktop PCs, printers, scanners, etc
  • Use, review and update of procedures as necessary following consultation with senior team members re best practice.
  • Ensure all necessary administration tasks are kept up-to-date
IT Helpdesk Controller - Skills and Experience
  • Basic Maths & English
  • Preferably HND or HNC qualified (related to IT)
  • Preferably A+ Qualified
  • Preferably Network+ Qualified
  • Preferably MCP Qualification
IT Helpdesk Knowledge/background
  • Previous Customer contact/care experience (both face-to-face and via the telephone).
  • Previous IT Helpdesk experience providing 1st line desktop support.
  • Previous 1st line support of business applications.
  • Experience installing & troubleshooting MS Windows 7.
  • Previous support experience of MS Office Packages from 2003 through to 2010 (Excel, Word, PowerPoint & Access).
  • Experience supporting network printers.
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Active Directory (administration).
  • Basic general networking knowledge, specifically TCP/IP V4 in relation to address scheme, routing, troubleshooting, wireless set-up and support etc.
  • Basic understanding of LAN networks to include cat5e cabling and patch panels.
  • Previous support of Blackberry and other hand-held devices is advantageous but not essential.
  • Prior knowledge of telecomsPABX/Telephone systems is advantageous but not essential.
Other
  • Full clean UK driving licence.
The role of IT Helpdesk Controller is offering a salary of £25000 to £28000 plus benefits for the successful candidate.All successful candidates will be contacted within 5 days of application.
