Job Description

I am recruiting for a Housing Officer for my clients services across Harrogate who provide high-quality customer service that adheres to the principles of best practice, promoting equal opportunities and working positively with diversity. They are an ambitious,forward-thinking organisation and our colleagues will be committed to developing and enhancing the services we provide.This role will provide housing management advice and support to people at the clients properties, either where care and support is provided by another support provider or by my clients staff directly. You will be responsible for monitoring the housing managementresponsibilities of the support provider in accordance with the management agreement or service level agreement.Key Responsibilities of a Housing Officer:

  • Inspect empty properties, and arrange for them to be available for re-let, ensuring they meet industry standards as governed by relevant legislation.
  • Maintain a positive relationship with owning landlords as required.
  • Arrange/co-ordinate any repairs (responsive & void) on properties through contractor liaison, updating internal systems.
  • Undertake property viewings and sign ups with new tenants when required.
  • Attend multi-agency meetings where appropriate to discuss individual tenant cases and contribute ideas around their housing options.
  • Ensure all properties have up to date Gas Safety Certificates, PAT tests, EPC, Decent Homes Standards and H&S checks, Electrical Contract reports and Fire Risk Assessments.
Housing Officer Requirements:
  • Understanding of case management of tenancy related issues.
  • Knowledge of Housing Legislation.
  • Ability to identify repair and disrepair & take appropriate action.
  • Experience of management of individual rent accounts.
  • Experience of management of void properties.
