Harrogate Borough Council are looking for a Duty Manager(Fitness) to join our team at The Hydro in Harrogate and drive Brimhams Fitness forward and be part of the operationalDuty Management team responsible for delivering a high level of service across the facility. As our Duty Manager,you will join uson a full-time basis and in return, you will receive a competitive salary of£24,982 - £27,041 per annum.About the role:Duty Managers undertake the day-to-day operational management of the facility and must be able to work under pressure in a dynamic environment. As a Duty Manager reporting to the Senior Operations Managers you will have various management responsibilities including the Health & Safety of Customers, Marketing and Programming, Customer Care, Staff Supervision, Staff Training, Aquatics Development and Brimhams Fitness.In joining the team you will be part of a transformational journey for the sport, leisure, and active lifestyle services involving a £40 million investment package to transform facilities and the introduction of exciting new service developments. On 1st August 2021 the service will move to a new Local Authority Controlled Company, Brimhams Active, and you will be helping to deliver the Vision of “A healthier more active population living longer, more independent and happier lives.” On this date, this role will transfer to Brimhams Active Limited under TUPE on the current terms of employment, a period of continuous employment would be preserved including membership of the North Yorkshire Pension Fund.Working hours: The hours available are on a two-week rota between 06:30 am and 22:00. Full training on the front of house software and a uniform will be provided.What we’re looking for in ourDuty Manager:- Excellent organisation skills- Sensitive to customer needs- A thorough understanding of the health and safety issues that relate to a busy leisure centre- Some experience in the management of a large leisure facility together with the ability to communicate with and supervise a large and varied staff team- A further qualification in leisure or a related field- A current RLSS National Pool Lifeguard qualification- A recognised Level 2 Gym Instructor qualification- An aquatics teaching qualificationDesirable but not essential qualifications/experience:- Level 3 Gym Instructor- Exercise to Music qualification- GP referral qualification- Experience of running a GP referral scheme- Gym Instruction for Adolescents- First Aid at Work certificate- Pool Plant Operators certificate- Working knowledge of IT systemsClosing date for Applications: Monday 10 May 2021 (midnight)Tests to be held on: Week Commencing 17 May 2021Interviews to be held on: Week Commencing 17 May 2021If you believe you are the right candidate for the role as our Duty Manager, then please click ‘apply’ now!
