Commercial Management Accountant / Accounting and Systems Manager

OUR CLIENTOur client is a Harrogate super brand who produce a globally recognised product within the FMCG industry. Their award-winning and distinctive product is manufactured on their Harrogate site and distributed to premium brands across the UK and beyond. As aresult of their impressive international recognition, we have been tasked with searching for an Accounting and Systems Manager to join their leadership team.THE OPPORTUNITYIn this role, you will report to the Financial Controller and be responsible for managing all aspects of company financial matters, from monthly financial reporting and the preparation of accounts, through to the preparation and presentation of annual budgetsand forecasts. Alongside all financial responsibilities, you will develop, enhance, and implement procedures, standards, and policies and complete commercial projects to help drive business and operational efficiencies.Your key responsibilities will include:
  • Preparation and production of Management and Statutory Accounts.
  • Preparing and assisting with the presentation of annual budgets.
  • Direct management of Purchase Ledger Administrator.
  • Reporting, monitoring, and budgeting for capital expenditure: plan vs actual.
  • Liaising with auditors for the preparation and submission of Annual Group Statutory Accounts.
  • Preparation and production of VAT returns and EC reporting.
  • Aiding in the development and enhancement of internal system output, including Access ERP, and training/developing internal users.
THE CANDIDATEOur ideal candidate will be an experienced and qualified Management Accountant, preferably with previous experience in the FMCG industry; You will be a proactive and analytical individual with excellent data analysis and presentation skills. Were lookingfor an excellent problem solver who possesses exceptional communication skills, and a passion for continuous personal and professional development.We would love to speak to candidate who can demonstrate the following:
  • Qualified Management Accountant - CIMA, ICAEW or other equivalent.
  • Previous experience working with a variety of systems; Access Supply Chain, SAP, Oracle, Power BI etc.
  • Excellent business acumen and a strong commercial awareness.
  • Exceptional attention to detail that improves forecast integrity, balanced with the ability to see the financial plan in total to be able to articulate the business strategy.
  • A process orientated and analytical mindset with the ability to explain complex concepts and information clearly and effectively.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills with a strong work ethic, a desire to learn and commitment to lead by example.
