Job Description

Job Title: Yorkshire Rural Support Network CoordinatorLocation: Yorkshire Agricultural Society, Great Yorkshire Showground Harrogate, HG2 8NZ flexibility for some home workingSalary: £15,000 p.a. for 3 daysJob Type: Part time permanentDo you want to use your knowledge of the farming community to make a difference to peoples livesDo you enjoy connecting people and organisations togetherDo you want to use your excellent admin skills to build and maintain supportive networksIf so we have a fantastic opportunity to join the Charitable Activities team to coordinate the work of the Yorkshire Rural Support Network and provide a crucial connection between the farming community and rural support partners operating across the Yorkshireregion.About the role:Based on the Great Yorkshire Showground in Harrogate, the main purpose of your role is to coordinate the work of the Yorkshire Rural Support Network, a partnership of farming organisations, charities and voluntary agencies that together promote and providesources of help - whether practical, financial, medical or emotional - to those who live in farming and rural communities in Yorkshire.Key Areas:The Yorkshire Rural Support Network is a network funded by the Yorkshire Agricultural Society. The Networks strategic activities and priorities are guided by its steering group and Chair.The coordinator is the first point of contact for partnership organisations and charities who are members of the Yorkshire Rural Support Network. Key responsibilities in this role are:

  • to maintain, manage and develop close working relationships with network members
  • to promote the work of network members within the Network, externally and within the YAS Charitable Activities team
  • to organise, run and develop activities on behalf of the Network including the Women in Farming Network
  • to work closely with the Yorkshire Agricultural Societys Charitable Activities Manager to coordinate the promotion of the Network, its events and activities
  • to organise meetings, speakers and maintain the Networks database
  • to raise sponsorship support to fund events and initiatives such as the Women in Farming Network Autumn Gathering.
The role involves some administrative duties to ensure the smooth running of the Networks functions and attending some external events and meetings on behalf of the Network. The Coordinator will have the ability to initiate objective solutions to problems,and develop a network of partnership organisations.About you You will have:
  • A track record of developing networks by maintain excellent communication with all stakeholders and demonstrating your ability to work as part of a team
  • Experience of delivering activities and projects with excellent results in collaboration with partners
  • Understanding of rural and farming life, socially and economically
  • Knowledge and awareness of the changes impacting upon British agriculture
  • Excellent admin skills with the ability to prioritise and work on your own initiative
