Job Description

Brilliant opportunity for an experienced Assistant Accountant/Assistant Management Accountant to join a growing, forward thinking support business who are based on the outskirts of the Harrogate area. As the Assistant Accountant/Assistant Management Accountantyou will be responsible for working closely with the Financial Controller and will be given exposure to the month end process. The position will encompass both the management and financial accounts.Salary is up to £27,500 depending on experience, alongside hybrid working options after a probation period (2 days working from home), generous pension scheme and discounts from highstreet businesses. The employer can also offer study support for CIMA/ACCAand clear progression and development opportunities for the successful candidate.This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual who has previous experience of accruals, prepayments and journals and is now looking to take that next step in their career.Key responsibilities for the successful Assistant Accountant/ Assistant Management Accountant will include:

  • Month-end duties including intercompany recharges, fixed assets, journals, accruals and prepayments
  • Balance sheet reconciliations
  • Assisting with the preparation of the management accounts and the quarterly forecast/annual budget processes
  • Ensuring that all financial controls are in place and making sure all accounts are audit proof
  • Business partnering with the wider finance team and liaising with non- finance individuals
  • Carrying out variance analysis and completing various month end reports
  • Any other ad hoc tasks/projects as required by the Financial Controller and wider Finance Team
We are keen to speak with candidates who have some practical experience of carrying out accruals, prepayments and journals and who have either completed AAT/have started or looking to start CIMA/ACCA. Candidates with the equivalent qualified by experiencebackground will absolutely be considered.To be successful in the Assistant Accountant/Assistant Management Accountant role you will ideally:
  • Be ambitious, be keen to progress and will have a want to learn and develop within finance
  • Want to do further study or will be keen to learn new skills and systems
  • Have experience within a similar role and will be comfortable in a busy, fast paced role
  • Have an understanding and interest in a career in finance
