As a result of service development - an exciting opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic and motivated Registered Nurses with Acute Medicine/ Oncology/Haematology experience to join the Macmillan Acute Oncology (AO)/ Cancer of Unknown Primary (CUP) Nursing Team.One fulltime post and one part time 22 1/2 hours.This post will enable the current team to continue to develop the Acute Oncology service across the Trust to include the provision of a Malignancy of Unknown Origin (MUO) / CUP service and to develop a seven day AO service.The Macmillan AO nursing team provides specialist input to both Haematology and Oncology patients presenting with Acute Oncology problems and works closely with the Haematologists, specialist Palliative care team, Oncologists, the Emergency Department and the Acute Medical teams.The post will also involve being a key worker for patients diagnosed with a MUO.Whilst being an essential team player, you will need to be able to work autonomously and be able to prioritise, assess and recommend plans of care with the wider Acute Oncology and responsible treating teams.
