Job Description

If you are a Senior SHO , Core Medical Trainee, Surgical Trainee or SPR Specialist Registrar level Doctor, this is an exciting time, we are offering an opportunity to express interest in joining our brand new hospital, The Harborne Hospital, OpeningSpring 2023, Birmingham, West MidlandsWe are starting to recruit our employed Medical Team who want to join us on this journey, and are actively seeking to recruit;

  • Generalist Resident Doctors trained in Acute Medicine, Cardiology and General Surgery for pre and post-operative ward-based work.
  • Specialist Resident Doctors trained in Oncology and Haematology for ward and clinic-based work
  • Specialist Resident Doctors trained in Adult Critical Care and Anaesthesia for level 3 critical care units
Rewards: Attractive salary dependant upon the specialist area and level of training and experience, £57425 - £76239

  • Contract: Permanent to start February/March 2023
  • Hours: 3 x 12 hour shift per week, will include a range of days/nights and weekends on a 24/7 rota.
Joining us at the start of this new exciting venture, you will be part of a team to lead and scope the future medical pathways of our brand new site. Typical duties will include;
  • Under the Consultants direction and specialist nursing teams your role will be, daily medical care of inpatients- clerking admissions, reviewing discharges, assessing referrals, and ensuring our patients receive the best care.
  • Daily patient ward rounds, responding to Medical procedures as required
  • Escort service for transfer of ventilated patients in the hospital (e.g., to CT or MRI scanner) and occasionally inter-hospital/external transfers.
  • Supporting medically with outpatient and follow-up clinics
  • Supporting the cardiac arrest team as part of the hospital emergency response team.
Successful applicants will need to be:
  • MBBS medical qualification
  • Fully registered with the GMC and current licence to practice
  • A relevant additional post-graduate qualificationFRCA/ FICM/ MRCEM/MRCP or MRCS equivalentis desirable
  • Completion of foundation training and Core Medical, Surgical or Specialist training, ST2 and above.
  • Must hold current ALS certificate
