Job Description

HCA are delighted to be working in partnership with University Hospitals Birmingham to build a new £100m hospital opening in March 2023. Located on the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham campus, The Harborne Hospital will provide a full range of healthcare services, including acute and complex care for private patients in the West Midlands, as well as extra capacity and access to specialistfacilities for NHS patients.Job Title: Patient Access Manager (PAM)Location: The Harborne Hospital - BirminghamEmployer: HCA Healthcare UK.Team: Patient NavigationSalary Range: Competitive dependent upon skills and experienceThe Impact you will have:We have an exception role for you, in the position of Patient Access Manager (PAM) within our new state of the art hospital in Birmingham. This is real opportunity to join at the very inception and truly make your mark within our organisation.The Patient Access Manager (PAM) is responsible for the effective leadership, direction, evaluation and administration of the Patient Access functions. Your role is to lead the management and progressive development of high quality and customer responsiveservices, to maximise revenue capture and contribute to achieving the Hospitals Business Plan. This includes active contribution to Revenue Cycle and to the overall management of the Hospital and its business.You will have the opportunity to:

  • Facilitate the patient access experience by providing a world class service to our patients through a seamless patient journey and a high level of customer care at all times
  • Develop and implement, with the GPAM and Facility Senior Management Team (SMT), the Patient Access Facility strategy in line with the direction of HCA Healthcare UK business plan
  • Ensure that all Internal Audit policies and procedures are communicated and carried out within the department on a timely basis. Be supportive in implementing best practice and prepared to make recommendations on improved internal control processes
  • Maintain effective communication with relevant departments outside of the Facility, including Corporate Teams
  • Liaise with contracts, insurance, consultants and other third parties regarding the prices for procedures without standard pricing agreements
Ideally we are looking for someone who has;
  • Management / Supervisory experience
  • Good IT skills including Excel, Word, Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal & written, and the ability to deal with all levels of staff and external third parties
  • Strong collaborator, with a sense of ownership & accountability
  • Excellent organisational skills and able to work under pressure
