Job Description

The RoleAt Fisher German our people and clients are at the heart of what we do. This is a unique opportunity to join a leading Property Management firm in a role where the focus will be on financial management of a portfolio of clients and the properties held within the portfolios. This will include responsibility for specific ledger balances and associated financial transactions, reporting the financial data directly to the client with commentary and supporting documentation. The role will also involve liaison with external clients and internal clients such as asset managers and property managersDaily Tasks

  • Process changes to the property database relating to both the rent and service charge ledgers.
  • Generate any miscellaneous charges arising as a result of the changes made. To ensure the tenancy schedule is correct at all times.
  • Monthly Tasks
  • To report financial data to the clients as requested
  • To ensure all billings for rent, insurance, service charge and associated charges are complete
  • To initiate, document and record payment of rental monies to the client
  • To record miscellaneous receipts and payments
  • To review the bank reconciliation and ensure that any reconciling items are actioned correctly
  • To ensure that any VAT due from or to the client is accounted for and paid to or recovered from the client in a timely manner
  • To take responsibility for management of arrears, working with the credit controller to ensure that all tenant queries are resolved promptly
  • To ensure that the service charge budgets are obtained, input and delivered to tenants in a timely manner
  • To complete the service charge year end process within 3 months of year end to include:
  • Audit of expenditure and income
  • Liaison with external auditors as required
  • Cash reconciliation ensuring that all adjustments are actioned correctly
  • Close year on the system to include raising of balancing charges or credits as required.
  • Reconciliation of any other ledger balances e.g. recoverable expenditure to ensure that all outstanding costs are recovered
  • Technical Skills required
  • All accounting work is completed from the Trial Balance, hence a solid bookkeeping background is required
  • AAT qualified is preferable or demonstrable experience in bookkeeping to TB level. Property accounting experience preferred, but training can be provided to the right candidate
  • Accounting system in use - Yardi Voyager
  • The successful candidate will have:
  • A minimum of 2 years bookkeeping experience to trial balance.
  • Professional Services or property experience preferred
  • Have excellent attention to detail
  • Be proactive and able to prioritise work
