Job Description

Role overview Our client is currently in the market for a Receptionist to come and join their busy team to provide secretarial and administrative support. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact, answering queries via email or phone and ensuring visitorsand welcomed.Responsibilities

  • Welcome and greet visitors and ensure a high level of security provision is provided and is compliant with safeguarding, security, and health and safety policies.
  • Be a contact point until all students out of school on fixtures or visits have returned, even if this extends beyond the usual finish time.
  • Manage the switchboard and function as a message point, relaying messages to staff voicemail boxes or making a note of absentees.
  • Assist in overseeing pupil attendance, ensuring that iSAMS is up to date and all students are accounted for.
  • Maintain iSAMS (the School’s MIS).
  • Notify relevant colleagues when their visitors arrive.
  • Undertake and maintain a First Aid training qualification. Act as a staff member on duty for students who are on site outside normal School hours and address any concerns or issues.
  • Ensure that the reception area is kept neat, informative, and welcoming for visitors.
  • Assist students, staff, and visitors with any inquiries they may have.
  • Follow up with students who have missed extracurricular activities.
  • Provide administrative support for the Duke of Edinburgh program.
  • Maintain student registers for students leaving the site for private appointments, sports fixtures, voluntary service, etc. Issue passes to students leaving early.
Requirements
  • Experience of working as a receptionist or dealing with the public including in person, on the telephone and via email. Experience of administrative processes.
  • Excellent written and spoken English. Experience of working with data in and educational setting is desirable. Effective use of IT is essential.
