Practice Accounts AssistantHalifax, West YorkshireYou are AAT qualified and looking for your next opportunity. You are an enthusiastic individual who likes taking responsibility for a diverse portfolio of clients including managing year-end accounts. Would you like to be part of an established accountancy business and would you like to be part of the journey to shape the growth and future success of the businessDo you describe yourself as quick, accurate, having excellent organisational skills and a great communicator This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and experienced Practice Accounts Assistant looking to develop their skills within a small but busy working environment.The Role: Our client’s ideal candidate will be interested in helping the business to continue to develop, working under their own initiative and taking full responsibility of their client’s requirements. The role will be office based and on site at client’s premises within the Halifax and surrounding areas.You will be working with a wide range of clients from different sectors dealing with the preparation of their accounts.Since 2010, HBS has been working with a wide range of clients around Halifax providing Bookkeeping and Accountancy Services.Benefits:

  • Essential Duties: Preparation of accounts including:
  • Month end journals
  • VAT returns
  • Preparing year-end accounts for Limited Companies and Sole Traders
  • Purchase ledger
  • Sales ledger
  • Bank reconciliation
  • Credit card reconciliation
  • The Ideal Individual:
  • Will be used to managing several clients across diverse industries
  • Be passionate about providing great customer service
  • Experience in and energized by working to tight deadlines
  • Will be keen to work as part of a small team
  • Will have worked in roles that demonstrate good relationship skills
  • Be personally responsible for own personal continuous professional development, ensuring they remain fully skilled and trained and effective in the post
  • Required Qualifications
  • Applicants must hold AAT qualifications
  • Skills
  • Excel together with excellent IT skills are essential, as is experience with MS Office Software.
  • Knowledge of Xero, Quickbooks, Sage One and Payroll Manager and experience within a practice environment would place candidates in an advantageous position.
