Engineering Stores BuyerHalifax HX3Up to £25,000Our client are an International Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) organisation managing its customers indirect material spend via an integrated e-procurement platform. Their client list includes multinational organisations such including high end automotive manufacturers to global pharmaceutical manufacturers to leading food manufacturers.Their offering in the market is unique - this is why they continue to grow at a phenomenal rate. They have more than doubled in size over the last six years, growing their turnover from £84m to £300m.In 2017 they acquired another business and recently moved into new premises to accommodate the growth. Headquartered in Warrington (Birchwood) but with over 350 stores across the UK, Europe and Singapore and recently expanded into Ireland, Germany, Sweden, France and Slovakia. As a result of the growth, we are now looking a Engineering Stores Buyer to work on site within one of their sites in Halifax.As the Stores Buyer, you will be responsible for the sourcing of non-stock items and/or ad hoc stock items as required from new and existing Suppliers in line with agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and internal procedure(s).Responsibilities:* To source non-stock items and/or ad hoc stock items on request of the Client in line with agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and internal procedure(s)* To assist the Client in the selection of goods and to advise of alternative products where appropriate to negotiate cost reductions * To obtain quote requests for new items and to amend Purchase Information Records (PIRs) accordingly* To liaise directly with the Procurement department with respect to additional product information where necessary* To effectively and proactively identify and rectify price variances and potential lead time issues* To process orders as required with the correct procedure* Liaise with customers to resolve any invoice queries* To support with the expediting of all outstanding purchase orders when required* To liaise directly with customers in receipt of direct orders to confirm the delivery of goods and to update records on SAP accordingly* To efficiently respond to plant stopper situations, queries and urgent item(s) requests received from the Client* To establish and maintain rapport with the Client and all levels of Supplier personnel and Contractors* To carry out such other duties which are consistent with the nature and responsibilities of the job roleSkills Required:* Self-motivated together with a positive attitude to deliver excellent Client experience and satisfaction* Effective decision making and problem-solving skills through sound intuition and reasoning* Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy* Excellent verbal and written communication skills* Strong ICT skills with proficient use of Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word and Microsoft ExcelExperience Required:* Previous buying experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment desirableKnowledge Required:* Sound knowledge of SAP applications advantageousHoursMonday to Friday 08:00 - 16:30 or 07:30-16:00 Required skills
