Operations AssistantSector: Architectural Ironmongery, i.e. Hinges, Locks, Door Handles and much more to the construction industry.Location: HainaultJob Type: PermanentCar owner and driver: Due to being on a large Industrial estate, with no public transport running through, being a car owner would be essential unless you live very localParking: Free parking on siteSalary Range: £18,000 to £24,000 depending on skill and experienceWorking Days and Hours: The core hours are 8.30am - 5.00pm Monday to Friday with 1 hour for lunch. The Operations Assistant is expected to work any other reasonable time outside of these hours if requiredAbout the companyThe company supplies Architectural Ironmongery, i.e. Hinges, Locks, Door Handles and much more to the construction industryThey have been established for 19 years and are looking to continue their exceptional customer service.OverviewThis role is a key part of the smooth running of the company office and warehouse. We expect the Operations Assistant to be part of the team, pitching in as required to make sure we do a great job and provide exceptional service to our clientsThe role will generally be split 80% to 20% in favour of the Office duties to the Warehouse work and can change depending on the volume of work which comes in. Therefore, we are looking for an individual with the positive attitude and is flexible to allparts of the role.Key duties breakdownOffice and Administration duties (80% of the role) include:Data entry of orders and customer information in Excel, Sage software and other databasesDealing with incoming and outgoing customer queries via email and phone.Updating computer recordsTyping information and completing reportsOrdering suppliesAll general administration duties to support the Owner, Senior Administrator and customers.Warehouse / Hands on duties (20% of the role) include:Physically taking in deliveries, unpacking and checking stock. Preparing and packing outgoing ordersBooking deliveries onto courier website.Keeping the warehouse and trade counter clean and well organised.Reorganising areas of the warehouse.Attitude and approachThere are three aims that are critical to our business and we expect all staff to help us deliver on these promises to our clients:Right first time, on time: accuracy of orders and orders arriving when we say they will are both incredibly important to us.
