Job Description

Summary You will be responsible for leading the co-creation and co-production of a year-round public engagement programme of visitor experiences and participation opportunities in Birmingham & the Black Country.You’ll be focused on conservation in the outdoors both. To do this you will need to work across the portfolio and beyond our boundaries to identify opportunities and showcase what makes us unique and sharing in a way that invites and welcomes everyone.You’ll have a view on planning (we’ll always know what’s coming up in the next 3 years) and won’t mind rolling your sleeves up to get stuck into delivering too. You will be well networked into the Birmingham area, with an eye for partnership opportunities across the region. You will have experience of working with and for young people in the conservation world. You’ll be partof our duty management rota and will be able to work your share of weekends andbank holidays. And you’ll be doing it in a collaborative, empathic way –being able to adapt your plans and style to the needs of partners, teammembers, and audiences. Who were looking for Youll need:

  • Relevant experience in the area of creative, cultural or outdoor/ recreational product development, learning or community engagement, event or activity management
  • Experience working in outdoor conservation
  • Experience devising and delivering programmes of engagement opportunities relevant to the needs of visitors, volunteers and / or partners, ideally within the arts, culture, heritage, natural environment, sports or visitor attraction sector
  • Experience of working with and commissioning external agencies, contractors and organisations.
  • Experience of championing and influencing to deliver audience/partner-led engagement opportunities across multiple teams/ departments
  • Experience of managing operational risk, including how to assess and manage risk effectively.
  • Strong people and influencing skills, enabling strong relationships externally and internally to be built and maintained.
