Job Description

Are you looking for an exciting new role within IT Are you available for work immediately Office Angels are currently recruiting for an IT Systems Assistant, to join our client who is based in Guisborough, on a temporary ongoing contract basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for an aspiring or experienced IT Technician to further developwithin the Education sector. Reporting to the IT Systems Manager you will be part of the technical support team, providing a high quality service to staff and students. Your primary duties will be focused on providing a resilient IT infrastructure and supporting staff and on-sitestrategic partners in its use. You will also be required to provide assistance with the IT communication and audio-visual systems. This will involve working closely with all trust staff and will also involve contact with consultants and providers of maintenancecontracts.Your work will be co-ordinated through the IT Systems Manager but there will be a need to work independently and to use initiative. You may be required to take the lead role in the development and installation of some IT projects.

  • Location: Guisborough
  • Pay rate: Circa £13, negotiable depending on experience
  • Immediate start until July half term, however, could continue longer thereafter
  • Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30AM - 4:30PM, however flexibility can be offered
  • Free on-site parking
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Maintain IT, communication system and audio-visual projects as required by the IT Systems Manager.
  • In consultation with the IT Systems Manager, research, design, develop, install and support IT, communication and audio-visual systems.
  • Ensure all aspects of security and integrity of Trust owned data throughout its life cycle, and ensuring the security of the network from internal and external unauthorised access.
  • Install, operate, support and disassemble college owned computer network, computer hardware and computer software, communication and audio-visual systems. This may include College activities both on and off site.
  • Install, configure, monitor and support systems which are resilient, highly available and at the forefront of technological development including web-based applications, network and computer systems
  • Supporting specialist software provision for curriculum delivery applicable to one or many subject areas. This role will involve, amongst others, research (including investigation e.g. other colleges) promote awareness to teaching staff, installation andconfiguration to meet end users needs.
  • Install, configure, monitor, operate and support IT based systems which store and provide information and services to end users.
  • Attend and contribute to IT team meetings as required.
  • Use software deployment and inventory tools
  • Maintain licensing information to ensure software is only deployed where applicable
  • Deploy cabling, trunking, interactive whiteboards, large screen televisions/monitors, and similar items using power and hand tools
  • Perform routine maintenance of IT, communication systems and audio-visual equipment.
  • Carry out essential upgrade and maintenance work.
  • Perform administration tasks on the Trusts IT systems including the routine monitoring and management of all user accounts and their associated data to ensure compliance with Trust policies.
  • Troubleshoot, identify and rectify faults with IT, communication and audio-visual equipment.
  • Monitor stock levels, take delivery of and safely and securely store consumables and IT, audio-visual equipment.
  • Assist staff and students in the use of IT equipment and software
