Job Description

The starting salary for this position is £29,291 per annum based on a 36-hour working week.Do you feel passionate about supporting young people to achieve their very best Are you looking for opportunities to gain experience within a dynamic and innovative teamWe are currently looking for a creative individual who enjoys working with adolescents and their families to join the Safeguarding Adolescents Team as aYouth Support Practitioner. In this role, you will work in Surreys Childrens Service, helping makea difference to our young peoples lives.You will be working to support Social Workers in the team, working intensivelyin a planned way with the adolescents, family or carers and other agencies and services, supporting children and families to achieve their potential. You will undertake directwork with adolescents, parenting work and group work. As well as this, you will undertake Return Home Interviews for children who have been missing. You will need to be able to work in partnership and use your skills to engage with children in a meaningfulway.As a member of our team,you will be working alongside Social Workers and other partners, agencies, and the voluntary sector to support children and their families in the community. Surrey Childrens Service provides training to ensure competence and professionaldevelopment. We will ensure that you receive a full induction and monthly supervision.Youll need experience of working with children and young people in a paid or voluntary setting. You will also need to be able to engage with children and young people and their families/carers, supporting Social Workers in managing risk and achieving positivechange, all working within the Family Safeguarding Model. Therefore, effective interpersonal and communication skills are also vital.This role will require travel around the county, therefore you will need to have a valid driving licence and use of a vehicle, insured for business use.Surrey Childrens Service believes that the welfare of children and their families is paramount.
