Job Description

The starting salary for this role is £24,780 per annumfor working 36 hours per week.Flexible working is supported where possible, including office and home working and occasional working from other offices and sites across the County.Are you looking for anexcitingopportunitytodeliverexcellentsupport to Surreys HighwayServiceThe Highways & Transport service is responsible for ensuring the effective management, maintenance and improvement of all highway and transport assets. The highway is the mostvaluable assetmanaged by Surrey County Council with a replacement value of approximately£7.5bn and is critical to the economic growth of the County. It is regarded bycouncillorsand residents as one of the most important services provided by the Council.The Technical Support Team provides a central administrative and project supportfunction,and you will need to work flexibly with a commitment to providing excellent customer service.As a Technical SupportOfficer,youwill respond toa high volume andwide range of requests,supporting the wider teams to deliver the overall objectives of the Service. You will be the first point of contact for public and SCC visitors at a key county office, therefore it is important that you promote a positive first andlasting image of the County Council.We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, proactive and a motivated team player whocan demonstrate a passion for providingexcellent customer service.To be shortlisted foraninterview please complete the online application form and a personal statement to clearly evidence the following:

  • Previous experience ofprovidingadministrativefunctions
  • Ability to prioritise and plan own workload in the context of conflicting priorities

  • A positive, self-motivated and tenacious attitude with a desire to learn and be solutions focused through a commitment to continuous improvement
  • Good IT skills and proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Your ability to learn quickly and hit the ground running in a busy environment
