The starting salary for this position is £24,780 per annum for 36 hours per week based at Guildford Adult Learning Centre, Sydenham Road, Guildford, Surrey, GU1 3RX. This role welcomes remote working and whilst you wont be required in the Centre 5 days a week, there is the expectation you will work in the office at least three days a week.This position is offered on a 12-month fixed-term basis or secondment opportunity for internal staff.Surrey Adult Learning provide a wide range of daytime, evening and Saturday courses and learning opportunities for adults. The provision includes leisure courses like arts and crafts and languages, qualification courses such as GCSEs in English and Maths,classes which support those with learning disabilities, classes aimed at parents/carers to help them support their children and improve their own skills and an outreach provision aimed at vulnerable groups in the community who would not normally engage inany form of learning. Surrey Adult Learning has seven centres across North and Southwest Surrey.We have a fantastic opportunity for you to join our Guildford Centre team to support the administration of our Adult Skills provision. This priority area includes GCSE and Functional Skills courses in English and Maths and English for Speakers of other Languages(ESOL) courses for those wishing to learn English.You will have a key role in the day-to-day support to our Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) process, which assists learners to apply, be assessed and placed on the appropriate level course. You will check eligibility documents, facilitate assessments,coordinate course offers, process enrolments, respond to learner queries, monitor and keep track of information and update and maintain spreadsheets and databases. You will work closely with the Area Business Manager and Curriculum Manager and will liaiseregularly with your colleagues to make sure that everything is in place to guarantee that all runs smoothly for this process.You will be highly organised, willing to take responsibility and use initiative, and be comfortable in setting your own priorities and meeting deadlines. Excellent interpersonal skills are essential along with a high level of written and oral communicationskills. You will have experience of working within a customer-focused environment and have the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.To be shortlisted to interview for this position your application will clearly evidence:
