Summary Working within a bustling atmosphere as part of passionate team this role as a relief weir keeperplays a core part in providing fantastic customer service.The Hours: This role is an hourly paid, fixed term role. Wherever possible we aim to offer a consistent working pattern, but were looking for flexibility as it may be necessary for us to alter this pattern from time to time to suit theneeds of the business. Wed give you as much notice of this as possible.The Salary: £9.60Duration: Fixed term until 31st May 2024Interviews for this role will be held on the 23rd February. What its like to work here The Wey Navigations is a calm waterway running for nearly 20 miles through the heart of Surrey. Whilst the river can be demanding and hard work, its always rewarding. Our team of weir operators are on hand all day every day, making sure there is sufficientriver depth for navigation and alleviating flood waters. Although youll mainly be working on your own, youll be part of a larger team performing a vital role in keeping the Navigations operational and delivering an excellent visitor experience. Click here for more information about this location What youll be doing Working in close cooperation with other weir operators, youll be responsible for maintaining navigation levels by adjusting weir gates at Broadmeads Weir, Old Woking.Youll be regularly monitoring the river and have the flexibility to respond at shortnotice.
