This position will report directly to the appropriate Commodity manager. Crucial to the success of this role is the development and implementation of procurement commodity strategies that effectively use the resources available to form part of the overalldepartment and company strategies. You will be responsible for achieving the SMART objects set for you with quarterly reviews. you will also be responsible for input into the weekly reports and KPIsScope of role* Co-ordinate sourcing activities to ensure they are completed inline with programme timings and gateways.* Maintain Sourcing trackers* Co-ordinate and chair nomination related meetings (procurement council, pre nomination & supplier choice)* Maintain and communicate purchasing programme related KPIs* Co-ordinate purchase order activities for all builds* Support programme launch team activities* Liaise between programme management (PMO) and purchasing - provide updates and request information* Support purchasing activities with programme timings, volumes and programme related informationRequirementsCertificate of Higher Education in Engineering/Business Studies or equivalentPurchasing or project management in a manufacturing environmentKnowledge of manufacturing technologies.PC literate with current Microsoft Office applicationManufacturing of fast moving consumer goods, general engineering, Aerospace. Central only - manufacturing and service industriesCommunicative, Resourceful, Outgoing. Responsive. Flexible. Ambitious. Persuasive. Self-directing. Passion for delivering objectivesAbility and acceptance of a degree of domestic and international travel, occasionally with little noticeDesirableHigher National Diploma in engineering/ Business Studies or equivalent Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply -Professional level or part qualifiedMembership of Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply or Prince 2QualificationExpert skills with Microsoft Excel, PC literate. Basic understanding of Engineering/manufacturing drawingsCategory Management, collaborative procurement, MRP, electronic procurementDeveloped Negotiator.
