Permanent - Full TimeRequired September 2024We are currently seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and experienced Teacher of Maths to join the current department which includes 4 full-time and 2 part-time teachers. Teaching in the Mathematics department is lively and successful, and girls achieve highstandards at all levels.Girls are set for Mathematics from the age of 11 and are taught in five or six divisions for each year group. In Years 7, 8 and 9, girls follow a curriculum that has been developed within the school and which takes account of the requirements of the NationalCurriculum. In Years 10 and 11, the Edexcel iGCSE is followed, and all girls enter the examination at the Higher Tier. The top two sets also study AQA Level 2 Certificate in Further Mathematics. A very high proportion of girls stay on into the Sixth Form andMaths and Further Maths are a popular choice at A level. Girls follow the Edexcel syllabus, taking modules in Pure Mathematics, Mechanics and Statistics, and Core Pure Mathematics, Further Mechanics and either Further Statistics or Decision Maths for FurtherMathematics.Mathematics can contribute to many aspects of the curriculum and the department aims to have good links with other subject areas. We also aim to make full use of the school’s ICT facilities.
