Job Description

TheLifeskillsteam at Activate Learning works to support learners who facesubstantialbarriers to education, including learners with special educational needs. You will teach from PreEntry - Level 1 to full-time groups via face to face teaching delivery, 1:1 intervention, small groups and remote delivery. This position is 25.9 hours per week (0.7 FTE) and is a fixed term contract until August 2021. What do you need to be successful in this roleSuccessful candidates will be able to demonstrate resilience and empathy to support students to succeed and encourage them to reach their potential. In addition, you will need to have a flexible approach, coupled with excellent organisational and interpersonal skills. You will demonstrate the ability to engage and develop students and role model the attributes that we develop within our learners. Whilst we would prefer applications from qualified teachers who hold a PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification, demonstrable experience of working within a similar environment would be taken into consideration. We would also consider applications from unqualified applicants, who are motivated to complete a teaching qualification, which Activate Learning will pay for. Unqualified candidates would start at a lower salary point and this could be discussed at interview, if successfully shortlisted.
