Job role: Activate Learning are looking for an enthusiastic and inspiring teacher in LLDD within Lifeskills at The Woodlands Centre, Merrist Wood College. The Lifeskills team works to support learners who face substantial barriers to education, including learners with severe, complex and profound special educational needs. This post provides an excellent opportunity for a teacher with passion and drive who is committed to enabling our students to unlock their potential and switch on to the power of learning. The post holder will teach in the Lifeskills team at Pre-Entry Levels.This is challenging and rewarding position and the successful applicant will be making a difference to our students lives whilst working in an extremely supportive team.This position is 32.1 hours per week (0.86 FTE) and is a permanent post.What do you need to be successful in this roleSuccessful candidates will have an appropriate professional qualification or experience. Whilst we would prefer applications from qualified teachers who hold a PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification, we would consider applications from unqualified applicants, with the ability to inspire our learners and a willingness to complete a teaching qualification. Unqualified candidates would start at a lower salary point and this could be discussed at interview, if successfully shortlisted.In addition, you will need to have a flexible approach, coupled with excellent organisational and interpersonal skills.
