Job Description

Our client is a non-profit organisation working with people to support their mental health and wellbeing. Established for over 30 years, they have provided services alongside a variety of statutory and voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE)colleagues in Surrey and its boarders. Our values are Kindness, Integrity and Commitment.They are currently looking for a Community Link Worker to work within the Community Connections supporting clients across Spelthorne, Elmbridge West and Runnymede. Salary: Starting salary £24,000Hours: 35 hoursDuration: 6 month maternity contract Company Benefits: 26 days annual leave pro rata (rising with service) + bank holidays + 1 extra days leave on your birthday, Pension, Access to Simply Health, Blended working, Employee discount programme and more....Location - Supporting clients across SW Surrey - Guildford and Waverly area - Hybrid Community Connections is a partnership contract funded by Clinical Commissioning Groups and Surrey County Council, working with a range of other partners to collectively offer a wide range of mental health support and wellbeing activities.The service is open to adults who want to maintain or increase their sense of wellbeing. As such any person wanting support to improve their mental health and wellbeing and/or prevent an existing mental health problem worsening can refer to the service.The role will be to support and enable people to manage their own health and wellbeing, promoting healthier lifestyles and raising the awareness of the concept of wellbeing and good mental health within an integrated care pathway. You will be involved indelivering community based activities and interventions including one-to-one support, groups and wellbeing activities, which are complementary to and reduce the need for services offered by the statutory sector. This post is subject to a DBS check. Please note past drug and/or alcohol or criminality history will not necessarily discount you from undertaking this roleOur ideal applicant will have/be: * Previous experience working within a mental health / wellbeing role supporting adults* A Diploma or Degree in appropriate subject is desired but NOT essential (Counselling, Psychology, Mental Health, Health and Social Care - level 3)* Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team* An understanding of Safeguarding policy and practice* Extensive knowledge and understanding of mental health issues* Knowledge and skills of engagement, motivational, and behaviour change approaches* Good communication skills both written and verbal* Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel* Ability to travel and work flexiblyeSift have been appointed as the resource partner and we are managing this role on behalf of our client.
