Job Description

The starting salary for this position is £26,569 per annum, based on a 36-hour week. This is a full-time, permanent role with a primary base of Henley Fort Outdoor Centre in Guildford, GU2 4RH. working at times across the whole of Surrey Outdoor Learning and Developments centres and provision.Are you confident in leading a team in the outdoor learning sectorThen this may be the role for you!Were looking for someone to join our team at Henley Fort, to support our Senior Instructor in the daily operations of our busy centre and service at Surrey Outdoor Learning and Development.Surrey Outdoor Learning and Development (SOLD) is a provider of high-quality Outdoor Learning programmes. We are committed to inspiring and engaging young people and adults, improving and enriching personal and social development and raising achievement, success and aspirations in life.The RoleAs a Lead Outdoor Learning Instructor you will have a supervisory role at SOLD, ensuring high quality outdoor learning facilitation in a wide range of adventurous outdoor activities and programmes. You will play a key role in supporting the Senior Instructorin managing the day-to-day operations of the centre and supervising a team of staff and resources. In this role, you will influence the quality of delivery and help fulfil our business potential.To be considered for shortlisting for this position, your CV and personal statement will need to evidence the following:

  • Experience of training, supervising and managing staff.
  • Experience of assisting in managing day to day logistics of an outdoor centre with a positive and solution focussed outlook.
  • An understanding of theories and methods to enhance learning in the outdoors
  • Experience with maintaining NGB centre recognition and centre health and safety guidelines
  • A minimum of of 3 national governing body qualifications relevant to the centre. At least on of these at senior level including Current First Aid.
  • A comprehensive understanding and extensive experience of delivering high quality outdoor learning
