Infrastructure Network Engineer (FortiGate) required for my client based near Guildford for a permanent role paying approx. £50-60kHours are either 7am-4pm / 8.30am-5.30pm / 10am-7pm on a rota basis. There will be on call 1 week in 7/8This is a remote role until at least January.Reporting to the UK Infrastructure Operations Manager, you’ll work with Infrastructure and DevOps colleagues across the globe to deliver resilient and secure services through the private cloud. You’ll be involved in all aspects of BAU operations and change. As a talented and enthusiastic Network Engineer you will be involved in the ongoing support, design and implementation of internal network infrastructure. You’ll be involved in exciting projects to support the current and future direction of our platform and services and will be responsible for producing, reviewing and executing change/problem requests and participating in technical projects to ensure our networks function efficiently and securely.Responsibilities• Working within the Infrastructure Operations Team to deliver a global follow-the-sun service• Support and management of network devices, including Fortigate and Cisco ASA firewalls• Maintaining and improving network security• Troubleshooting network problems and issues• Raising, designing and implementing recommendations for improvements to the network environment• Maintain a currency of knowledge with respect to relevant new technology, equipment and systems• Accept and resolve requests in line with service level agreements• Maintain a 99.999% network availability• Analyse network performance and bandwidth utilisation reports• Creation and maintenance of system and project documentation for network processes and technology• Coordinating with service owners, SMEs and stakeholders in the production of solutions and designs• Performing network implementations for internal projects• Provide input into developing and maintaining internal architecture standardsSkills and ExperienceEssential skills• Minimum of 3 years’ experience working with enterprise/data centre technology, including demonstrable firewall experience• Proficient with Fortigate and Cisco ASA firewalls• SSL termination configuration experience• Strong knowledge of VPNs, VLAN’s, SAN’s, separation/segmentation• Experience supporting VMware and iSCSI storage fabrics• Experience working within a team of technical resources• Experience in implementation of network projects
