Job Description

Head of FP&A candidate - Education sector - hybrid3-month Fixed term contract CIMA/ACCA/ACA qualified accountantClient Details

  • To bring value adding, commercially driven and forward-looking management information to Board and budget holders.
  • Develop and lead a budget and rolling forecast process
  • Liaise across the businesss Business Information and Marketing Analytics teams to drive integrated pipeline, operational and financial information
  • To build and lead a team of financial business partners and commercial analysts to support the needs of department heads in understanding their budgets, their actuals and the profitability of their activities.
  • Gain in depth knowledge of the accounting function, chart of accounts and coding to enable the creation an allocation model which can be fully diced and sliced
  • To create a culture of commercial accountability
  • To be a key member of the senior finance team developing and contributing to the five year plans and strategic direction of the University.
Description
  • The preparation of planning and forecasting models, ensuring they are fit for purpose.
  • To compile consolidated reporting information and to prepare monthly management accounts to a high standard and to deadline. Providing detailed insight and performance commentary.
  • To produce costing reports, forward projections and analysis as required to assist with business planning and the Universitys strategy.
  • Management and development of the Finance Business Partnering team, ensuring key support to Executive and Directors in developing operational performance, plans and KPIs
  • To produce timely and accurate financial information for Budget Holders and Board of Management.
  • To assist budget holders with the production and management of budgets and forecasts. Consolidating the results and challenging the status quo where required.
  • To ensure that the finance system provides sound financial information for business decision-making and reporting purposes.
  • Provide data and dealing directly with internal and external auditors as and when required.
  • To work with the Finance Director as part of the senior Finance management team, ensuring that the Finance department complies with its responsibilities to the Executive Board and supports the strategic direction of the University.
  • To ensure that any other work required to ensure the good financial management of the University, or to safeguard its financial position, is undertaken.
  • To perform other tasks as required by the Finance Director and Chief Financial Officer.
