Job Description

Head of Business DevelopmentAs the Head of Business Development, you will have overall responsibility for all sales revenues, not only from new business, but also from existing clients. This is a highly strategic and important role, reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The successful candidate will have a proven track record in managing, developing and winning new business. Must be an exceptional sales professional capable of leading the delivery of new and existing business; along with managing, coaching and developing a sales team of 4-6 Business Development Managers.The Role

  • As the Head of Business development, you will work closely with the CEO to define and implement the sales strategy and will have overall responsibility for the sales process and sales targets
  • Recruit, manage and drive the performance of a small team initially, with further growth pencilled for the next 6 months and beyond
  • Provide accurate and real time data on individual team performance on pipeline to the CEO
  • Work with the Head of Proposition to manage the service proposition for existing clients (client retention, contract renewals, upselling and service penetration targets)
  • Responsibility for Lead Generation (SEO & PPC) and Digital Marketing (including website, client engagement, e-marketing, PR)

  • Batchelor’s degree desirable
  • A strong track record within a Sales Management role, with experience in coaching and developing high pedigree sales talent
  • Proven experience of winning new business and devising and implementing growth strategy
  • Proven success against high targets
  • Experience of working successfully through periods of Sales Transformation and Change
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills at all levels. Able to develop rapport quickly. Polished and well presented who can articulate themselves at all levels, including Board level
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to overcome objections, strong negotiation skills
  • Data-driven, analytical thinking
  • Must be comfortable working within a remote environment; self-motivated, excellent time management and organisational skills, and can work successfully independently. Is comfortable working within a fast growing and fast paced organisation
  • Experience in software and/or Financial Services is desirable, but we would welcome applications from all disciplines, who can demonstrate the above experience and attributes
  • Due to the current COVID-19 situation, the successful applicant will commence this role by working from home, however when government guidance permits, there is a possibility there will be an office base within London or the South-East. Travel will be expected in order to fulfil the requirements of the job and therefore a full driving licence is essential.
