Job Description

Grafton Banks Finance is working exclusively with a c£80m turnover global business with offices near Guildford to recruit a Group Accounting Controller (Hybrid with 3 days per week remote working). It could suit someone who is a Senior Audit Manager withinpractice or someone already working in a similar role in industry. The successful candidate needs to be a fully qualified accountant with the following skills and experience:

  • UK GAAP and IFRS reporting.
  • Controls experience, ideally Sox, but can be other frameworks.
  • Group Consolidations.
  • Banking.
  • Tax.
Reporting to the Finance Director and managing a small team, the focus is on the financial accounting, reporting, treasury, and compliance of the business. Key areas of responsibility include:
  • Overall controls, process, and auditory compliance.
  • Group & Regional Financial Statutory accounts and reporting, supporting local entity filings and audits.
  • Business partner for 3rd parties e.g.: Big 4 Auditors.
  • Treasury, Banking, Tax, Pensions and other central items e.g. Insurance and FX management.
  • Processes and controls updated to meet accounting standards and requirements, ensures consistency across regions and continuously reviewed.
  • Accounting, reporting, and system improvements optimising technology and keeping up to date with enhancements.
  • Accountable for overall audit, tax and statutory requirements and deliverables.
  • Implements and supports new approaches e.g. Transfer pricing, FX reporting.
