Job Description

Our client, Transformers & Rectifiers Ltd is a specialist world leader in the design, manufacture, installation and maintenance of liquid filled and dry type transformer rectifiers. It is an independent British company that has been offering world class engineering solutions to a global customer base for over 60 years.This well-established business is now looking for a Financial Controller to join their busy team, based in Guildford, Surrey. Reporting to the Managing Director and working closely with the Group Finance Director you will be responsible for preparation of management and statutory accounts, monthly management submissions as well as overseeing the day to day activities of finance and administration.Financial Controller, tasks:

  • Preparing accurate and carried out in line with timetables and guidelines financial reports and accounts
  • Monitoring and controlling all accruals, provisions etc.
  • Compliance, audit and process management
  • Preparation of budgets, forecasts and cash planning
  • Processing of general ledger transactions as well as Credit and Purchase Ledger management
  • Analysing and presenting financial data
  • Managing daily admin operations (weekly and month payroll, PAYE and HMRS matters, VAT returns)
  • Cash and banking management in addition to monthly bank reconciliation
  • Supporting Sales department with costing /quotes and PO approvals
    • Financial Controller, individual:
  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA or equivalent qualifications is required
  • Technically strong and strategic thinking Accountant (practical experience in manufacturing/engineering will be beneficial)
  • Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail is a must
  • Great organisational skills capability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
  • Dynamic and confident to develop, execute and implement business plans
  • Methodical and resourceful, with a structured approach to work
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, ability to communicate on all levels of the business
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Punctual, reliable and trustworthy
