Job Description

Cyber Security Consultant – IT Management & Technical ConsultancyLocation: Guildford, Surrey (Field Based)Salary: GBP60k – GBP70k + per annum DOE + Excellent BenefitsWe are working on behalf of an expanding Management and Technology Consultancy based in Surrey looking to take on a Cyber Security Consultant. You will have the opportunity to provide support to a wide range of high–profile UK public sector and defence organisations. Your help will enable them to protect their ICT investments, and in doing so play a key role in nationallycritical projects which make a real difference to peoples everyday lives.The Role:Their focus is primarily on the UK Defence and Public Sectors, making experience within these areas, especially in the ICT context of enterprise solutions, desirable. Given the fast–paced ICT landscape and the requirement to handle various assignments swiftly,their consultants should possess quick thinking, proactivity, self–motivation, and the capability to approach unfamiliar subjects systematically.Your responsibilities will depend on your experience and could span from crafting security architectures to offering guidance on GRC activities. This involves clarifying information risk causes, likelihood, and business impacts. Whether working solo or inteams, youll undertake diverse consultancy assignments. Due to the nature of the client site working, regular travel within the UK should be expected. The base office is in Guildford, but it is likely that you will spend the majority of your time workingwith clients at their sites.Responsibilities:

  • Manage diverse project roles, offer Information Assurance advice, and contribute to strategies.
  • Lead security program management and design architectures.
  • Oversee system development, engage stakeholders, clients, and teams.
  • Providing security expertise for major system procurements and Agile programmes.
  • Identifying, analysing, and evaluating information risks across various programs and projects.
  • Presenting options for treating or transferring information risks.
  • Developing or reviewing new security architectures for emerging technologies and practices.
  • Providing consultancy on information assurance and architectural problems.
  • Scoping security testing, explaining results, and required remediation.
  • Conducting security monitoring and investigating incidents.
  • Problem–solve, create opportunities, and deliver high–quality results.
Requirements:Essential:
  • Previous experience working as a Cyber Security Consultant or in a similar role
  • Experience with complex ICT systems in a technical delivery or consulting capacity;
  • A good understanding of enterprise information and communications technology;
  • The ability to present and justify conclusions to project teams and business stakeholders;
  • Proven abilities in delivering to client expectations and requirements;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Desirable:
  • Structured security frameworks, such as HMG SPF and ISO27001;
  • Security, technical and enterprise architecture methods such as TOGAF and SABSA;
  • Technical risk assessments;
  • Software development and delivery;
  • ICT service delivery, including ITIL;
  • Enterprise security packages, security enforcing software and devices, such as identity management and federation, cryptography, public key infrastructure, firewalls, SIEM, vulnerability scanning, etc.

Preference is given to candidates with, or studying for a security–based masters degree. Alternatively, a STEM based degree.
