Job Description

AreaManagerResponsible To: Operations Manager or other Manager as designated by the companyShort Description: The Area Manager is responsible for delivering Service User centred care; through the efficient operation of a number of Supported housing unit(s) and staff allocated to them in compliance with company processes and procedures.Specific Duties: The AM will be specifically responsible for:-Maximisation of Service User interests by liaising with internal and external stakeholder- Driving the operational development, maintenance and implementation of person centred care plans for each service user- Safeguarding the rights and dignity of each Service User through effective management of their patch- Routine assessment and communication of Service User development to interested stakeholders- Effective control of Service User financials and house budgets

  1. fostering of a positive environment in which Service Users and staff actively engage
  2. regular conduct of open and transparent two-way communication with Service Users and staff
  3. maintaining the cleanliness, quality, security and safety of each home and individual service user accommodation
  4. provision of direct management and supervision to reporting management staff
  5. actively engage in performance and discipline management to maximise staff performance and assure compliance with company procedures
  6. conduct of staff training needs analysis and the co-ordination and delivery of training and professional development to maximise staff competence
  7. attending and actively participating in management reviews
  8. accomplish self-audits and pro-actively engage in external compliance audits
  9. enhancement current operations through continuous improvement
The following qualification, skills and experience are required for this role:
  1. NVQ Level 5 in Leadership and Management in Social Care (or equivalent) with a minimum of two years’ experience at Area Manager level (ideally within Supported Living/Mental Health)
  2. Must possess in-depth Mental Health knowledge, with experience of supporting service users with a range of mental health diagnosis and medication - or be from a Learning Disabilities background and be willing to cross over into Mental Health
  3. Must have previous experience of managing multi-sites and direct line management experience of line managers
  4. A confident decision maker, with the ability to critically analyse situations and make important decisions
  5. Ability to pass CCS MIP Training within 12 months of appointment date; and
  6. Competence in the use of Microsoft Office and Internet applications
  7. Strong English spoken, listening, writing, communication and presentation skills
  8. Strong administration skills
  9. Full driving license and use of own car
