Job Description

Business Analyst Guilford£500-550pd 6 Month Contract (inscope of IR35)Our client has a fantastic opportunity to join their busy and forward-thinking team of Business Analysts. The Business Analyst will be responsible for gathering requirements to enable organisational change by using specialised business analysis, change management skills and a disciplined business analysis approach. In addition, the purpose of the Business Analyst is to identify, and help the business articulate, the need for change by defining requirements and recommending solutions that will maximise the value delivered by the business to its customers.You will work closely with key stakeholders across the business and IT to contribute to the delivery of a varied portfolio of work.Key responsibilities of the Business Analyst

  • Applies best practice business analysis tools, techniques and standards as required, and supports the delivery of improvements to thee through the Business Analysis Community of Practice
  • Scopes and initiates change programmes, projects, and initiatives to deliver business benefits - defining, owning, and agreeing the BA Framework to be applied.
  • Supports translation of business requirements into viable business solutions in line with business objectives.
  • Supports the development, systems testing, user acceptance testing and implementation of solutions by working closely with solution partners, suppliers, and business stakeholders.
  • Learns from previous experience and understands how benefits have been delivered by participating in post-implementation reviews, lessons learned sessions and knowledge share/peer reviews.
    • Key Experience for the Business AnalystTechnical skills
  • Expertise in defining and leading business analysis approaches within Waterfall and Agile methodologies from business change and systems development perspectives.
  • Application of recognised industry standard modelling techniques
  • Experience and knowledge of systems lifecycle concepts used to plan, develop, implement, operate, and maintain IT systems/services.
  • Experience and/or certification in project management methods are desirable.
    • Experience
  • Experience of working in a business analysis role on a number of high complexity projects - ideally within the Insurance / Financial Services industry.
  • Experience and understanding of how businesses operate and key drivers for change.
  • A robust understanding of the full Project / Systems Development life cycle, and associated methodologies.
  • A good appreciation of the wider field of IT systems (architecture, hardware, and software), their use in relevant business processes and how they are implemented to meet business objectives.
  • High degree of organisation, task planning and time management.
  • Excellent communication skills - verbal and written - and MS Office, MS Visio.
  • Experience of planning and facilitating workshops of varying size.
  • Leadership, mentoring & coaching skills.
  • Experience of influencing and managing senior stakeholders
    • Qualifications
  • A Level education or equivalent - Essential
  • Educated to degree level or holder of further professional qualifications and experience - Desirable
  • BCS Diploma in Business Analysis or equivalent - Desirable
