We have a long-established bioinformatics service at the University and are now looking to appoint a new permanent full time Experimental Officer in Bioinformatics to support our innovative biomedical sciences research. As part of our team, you will provide bioinformatics expertise to Faculty researchers, develop software packages and pipelines to respond to theirresearch problem and provide training in the use of relevant specialist software.Potential applicants will most likely have a PhD in biostatistics, bioinformatics, data science, machine learning, statistics, mathematics, computer science, or in a Biological Sciences subject with relevant experience. Your skills in relevant data analysisand programming will enable you to join this team directly supporting the success of research activities and grant bidding in highly funded areas, for example those involving systems and computational biology. In your new role at Surrey your new internal networkwill be varied and extensive, and will include liaising on a regular basis with academics involved with genomics, metagenomics, proteomics and metabolomics.This permanent post is supported by excellent development opportunities including external skills training.
